Just came back from a preview screening of a new sci-fi film called Arrival.
Its a captivating tense ridden journey about alien contact that plays it real as in Carl Sagan's Contact in terms of the world reactions and interactions between countries. The tone is also semi-surreal due to the focus on the mindset of the female protagonist (not all that far off from the protagonist in Contact, actually).
Its a must see film, regardless of whatever you end up thinking about it. It would have been a 9.5/10 for me but there is a sci fi element that I have a gripe with so ultimately would give it an 8.5/10.
I think it will be released in a couple of weeks time. Do not watch any trailers, dont read indepth reviews, dont read the synopsis and dont even look at the poster 😉 As with any book or movie, the least you know the more you enjoy. If you trust my recommendation, just go see it.
