Lovely... a Cooke refractor... always thought they looked like "proper" telescopes. Beautiful engineering.

Difficult to know... but I'd guess late 19th or early 20th century... almost certainly over 100 years old.
The design looks similar to Cooke's that I've seen that were built in the 1890-1910 period... but I'm no expert.
There is a lot of examples of British engineering and appliances in Brazil. There used to be a joke that Brazilians could only s**t because of Britain.
