While compiling a mosaic I came across what I thought was initially an uninspiring active region. Turned out to be a very tortured area which works well with inversion.

Extraordinary levels of detail in this image... the inversion works really well to highlight the spicules and other surface features.

Great stuff.

I  like that inversion too!  That central region looks like a short tsunami wave about to engulf the "white" sun spot.   Rupert I wonder if you can post the normal image for comparison.

Inverted is definitely better. It gives a more 3-dimensional quality to the image that you don't get with the "normal" image.
