If the forecast is to be believed, we may be in for some clear skies tonight. I've almost forgotten what they look like, it's been such a overcast week!
If so, I may pop up to our usual location on Blackheath, to try to get some images of Jupiter, Mars and Saturn... as they are stubbornly too low to see from my garden.
Anyone is welcome to join me. I expect to set up from about 9.30pm. Skies won't get very dark, but we should still be able to view these planets.
Mike.
Not going to make it to Blackheath after all unfortunately. It will have to be another day.
I would have loved to come but I was so so tired from a long day of cricket playing and officiating in what seems like a sudden heatwave attack.
I am absolutely dying to see Mars again before it moves out of that close proximity range so do give a shout again when you do plan to go down...and I especially would like to see Mars again through your scope! (that's if you're not busy imaging of course)
Will certainly let you know if I plan to go out again... like you, I want to get another decent view of Mars in this apparition.
I did poke my head out of the door late last night. The seeing was awful, probably because of all that late heat in the day... so I doubt we would have had any decent views, with imaging next to impossible.
