Hi all,

Had to share these images which I've received from Martin Male this morning. All were taken from Romney last night, and all are stunning examples of deep sky imaging.

M13 by Martin Male by Flamsteed AS, on Flickr

M65 M66 & NGC 3628 by Martin Male by Flamsteed AS, on Flickr

NGC 4565 + distant "neighbour" by Martin Male by Flamsteed AS, on Flickr

NGC 4631 "Whale"Galaxy, NGC 4627 "Calf Galaxy' (close to left of Whale) & NGC 4656/4657 "Hockey Stick" galaxy by Martin Male by Flamsteed AS, on Flickr

I particularly like the last one of the Hockey Stick galaxy. As Martin says, NGC 4565/4657’s odd hockey stick shape is thought to be as a result of gravitational interaction with “Whale” galaxy which you can see above and to the left.

Wonderful stuff. Well done Martin!

Fantastic. By a spooky coincidence I've had the phrase 'globular cluster' going through my head for the last few days. I must have sensed that Martin's M13 pic was on the way...

I also love the NGC4565 which I believe is also known (appropriately) as the Needle Galaxy. Great stuff, Martin. You're in the next video!

Indeed, a stunning image. The dust lane has been caught perfectly. Just as impressive is that Martin has picked up NGC4565a, which is a much fainter companion galaxy (about 30 times fainter than the "Needle").
