Jet vapour trails and seeing?

I've heard (correct me if I'm wrong*) that the slower that jet vapour trails disperse the better the seeing is likely to be at night. Sounds like a reasonable indicator of upper atmosphere disturbance. Here's the skies over Bromley, yesterday, which reminded me of this point.

 

*What am I saying? Of course you're going to correct me if I'm wrong! 😉
