At my Astrocamp in the Brecon Beacons, I mostly enjoyed visual astronomy.  I didnt do any astrophotography with my telescope.  Turned out just one night was clear, the rest of the nights were torrential rain storms!  A great challenge for my camping gear but thankfully, I made good choices with my purchases!  Man was it put to the test.  But that one night of clear skies was amazing.  The milkiness of the Milky Way was white as fleece and I looked at so many amazing deep space objects that we dont get to see in London.

I did set off a simple widefield timelapse to chug away on its own while I enjoyed the visual astronomy with others, though.   This is one of the frames.  A 20 second untracked shot which I processed mainly Camera Raw and then a little more adjustments in Photoshop.

Stunning shot, Tej. Just goes to show how dark the skies are around there... but you've processed the shot brilliantly, and it's beautifully composed with those trees in the foreground.

Thank you for such encouraging words, Mike!  Means a lot to me, coming from you.  I was sure not to rush this one as the scene begs me to put in my best effort.  I chose this frame btw as I like how the Milky Way seems to be "gravity tugging" at the tree on the right 🙂

I'm having some difficulty with the timelapse, as its coming out way too "speckly"...didnt think I'll ever say this but there's too many stars, lol.  Need to figure it out.  I'll come back fresh on it over the next few days.

Thanks Brian, sorry I didnt see your comment until now.

I forgot that I still had a timelapse to complete so just did it and uploaded it here.  2hrs into a 13 second video.

Thanks guys.  Its great that we dont have to travel that far really for dark skies and the milky way in the photos is not far off from what I saw with my eyes in Wales.  Obviously, we dont see the colours like on the video/photo but certainly could see much of that structure and milky richness.
