What am I doing to these poor DSOs. I promise to now stop the cruelty but for now here is a perculiar capture of the Ring nebula...looks like the one ring to bind them all, doesn't it?
So this is my second ever DSO imaging but I heeded Mike's advice to shorten the exposures. So this is just 10sec exposures each frame but I increase the number of frames to around 240. I'm afraid nothing else has changed, again from my bedroom window and using the Celestron alt-az aligned to just one star...
I promise I will now use the equatorial next time but I just wanted to push what I can with Alt-Az Goto.
That's significantly better than the previous image, Tej! The stars looks round now. You've captured some nice colours in M57.... obviously no chance of picking up the central star in London skies (it's tough enough under dark skies!), but a great effort nonetheless.
I'm very impressed with what you're achieving with an alt-az mount... it'll be interesting to see what you can achieve with dark skies and an equatorial mount.
Tej Take pride in what you have achieved, looking good.
