The October "Sky this Month" presentation is now on this site, here, and will be presented at the Flamsteed lecture on Monday evening.
This month, we're looking at the following objects and events:
A video of the presentation can be seen below:

Also, many thanks to Andy for putting together a presentation of images taken by Flamsteed members, which we intend to play as people come into the lecture theatre. I've also put this video online, and it can be seen below:
Both are excellent.
Both are excellent
Thank you, Brian. It was good fun to do.
By the way, everyone, now that I've done this once it's pretty easy to update it with some new images to keep it fresh every month. So if you've got (or seen) any favourites that haven't been included, let me know and I'll include them next time!
Andy,
Where should members send their photos for consideration/inclusion in the pre-lecture presentation of images?
Good question, Clive. I'll discuss with Mike the best way to proceed in plenty of time for next month's show.
EDIT: In the mean time, you should have my email address in the Committee correspondence so feel free to send me something!
Sorry to be absent for a few days on this forum and to miss the lecture on Monday 🙁
Just read Mike's excellent sky at night report and wow, great Flamsteed members images, Andy, nicely compiled!
Hopefully some members will image the Saturn occulatation, so you can feature that in ext month's lecture 🙂
Hopefully some members will image the Saturn occultation
Show us how it's done, Tej, and send me your photos!!!
By coincidence, I have been invited to a farm in Witley near a national reserve which apparantly has moderately dark skies on the weekend of the 25th so had planned to do some deep space imaging. I had no idea about the Saturn occultation until now, so I will give that a shot, Andy 🙂 But damn, it means I wont be able to attend the planned Blackheath meeting 🙁
