Here's an image of some tapas (it's kinda on topic)… Well it's nearly lunchtime and I'm hungry so I guess that makes it absolutely topical. 🙂

Tapas

On to serious topics... Hope the weather does clear soon. I want to have a go at some photography before Rupert's workshop so I'm not a complete newb.

hands on practical and interaction is a huge boost to learning the dark art of imaging.

Totally agree! I hope Mike's prediction of clear spells on Saturday proves true so I can step out and experiment with the camera settings.

Arrg!! Christina! How mean! I am starving and I've no food around! TSK! My stomach is grumbling!

The next photo you upload here better be astro related to make up for the above torture! 😉

I hope for you that the weather looks up! I am not sure I'll be able to join you on this occasion as the rest of my week has become awfully busy! Received unexpected news this week, and so I am looking for jobs, with few application deadlines Monday. Ah the joys of working in the academic world :)...

Please post your photos so I can see what you've been up to! 🙂

Ha! Brian, I'm so hungry right now, I'd scoff the lot - easy!

Haha! I can't promise, but I'll certainly stop the food torture - am torturing myself to boot 🙂 Sorry to hear about your not so pleasant job news. Good luck with the applications!

Back from my travels and have just seen all that sexist nonsense. No politics or religion on my posts please.

From a personal point of view I don't mind a little female domination but I draw the line at being handcuffed to a tripod....

Oh come on... where's the fun in that?

Just for that, I'm going to break my own rule and post a joke... it's the classic Emo Philips joke about religion:

Once I saw this guy on a bridge about to jump. I said, "Don't do it!" He said, "Nobody loves me." I said, "God loves you. Do you believe in God?"

He said, "Yes." I said, "Are you a Christian or a Jew?" He said, "A Christian." I said, "Me, too! Protestant or Catholic?" He said, "Protestant." I said, "Me, too! What franchise?" He said, "Baptist." I said, "Me, too! Northern Baptist or Southern Baptist?" He said, "Northern Baptist." I said, "Me, too! Northern Conservative Baptist or Northern Liberal Baptist?"

He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist." I said, "Me, too! Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region, or Northern Conservative Baptist Eastern Region?" He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region." I said, "Me, too!"

Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1879, or Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912?" He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912." I said, "Die, heretic!" And I pushed him over.

Astrology? That's a bit close to home. When I set up my business 'Astrograph' I was thinking in terms of imaging telescopes. I then discovered that its an astrology term. One supplier linked me to my website but instead of using 'dot net' used 'dot com' which is an astrologers.

Mind you, not had any nut cases contact me for a reading yet. I could certainly read them their future if they do.....

ha! 😉 I'll keep an eye on the news should anyone turn up either handcuffed to a tripod or impaled on one! O_O

Last Tuesday, the president of the camera club showed some of my photos at the beginning of the lecture, introducing me as their only astrology photographer or something similar! :/
There was mostly laughter, reassuringly, following the statement.

You're in good company.

There was a rather infamous incident at the BBC, at the celebrations for the 40th anniversary of the Sky at Night, when the controller of BBC1, Alan Yentob, described Patrick Moore as an astrologer twice, and then the room full of distinguished scientists as astrologers. Patrick's reaction is unprintable.

Ha! I'd want to see!

They might end up thinking my triangle is a guide to reading... the stars!

It doesn't help that the likes of Galileo cast horoscopes, including one he did for himself.

In 1609 he did a horoscope for Grand Duke Ferdinand I, predicting a long and happy life (Galileo knew which side his Medicean bread was buttered on). He died within weeks.

It was a different era, of course. Now we know better. Especially those of us who are Geminis.
