It's all about being in the right place at the right time. I reckon none of us will manage that this time but it would be quite an extraordinary thing to see: a simultaneous total eclipse of the moon and a rising sun.

Thanks for highlighting this one, Andy. It had completely passed me by, given that it's not visible in the UK.

Should be an amazing sight... selenelions are incredibly rare.

Purely in the interests of science, of course.

Looks like we spent it all on biscuits for the committee meeting.

I remember a few years ago standing on the quay in Mevergisey, Cornwall watching a lunar eclipse with a crowd of people.Β  The reactions where very enthusiastic.Β  No better way to watch a lunar eclipse then with a pint ofΒ  a pint of St Austell's Tinners in your hand in Cornwall.
