Hope everyone had a nice Halloween weekend. I thought to stay indoors and protect all the pumpkin carvers from werewolves by keeping an eye on the moon and make sure it didnt turn into a full one 😉

Its an impromptu still shot from my canon on my 80mm apo frac on my Goto alt-az mount sitting on my little coffee table next to my living room window. I love that I can quickly fetch my Goto alt-az mount, set it on any stable flat surface, slide a telescope into it and after a quick one star or solar system alignment can enjoy stargazing. I just cant do that with an equatorial.

Great stuff, Tej.

Those craters near the terminator look amazing.

I was looking out at this Moon myself on Saturday evening, but there was so much moisture in the air, that I didn't think it worth dragging the scope out. I suspect I'd still be wiping the dew off today!

Yes there was so much moist! That's why I just enjoyed the moon. Its a great object to enjoy even on cloudy nights as it still reveals a lot through relatively thin clouds and moist. I suppose its because its so luminous?

Perfect capture Tej. Sometimes we all forget how beautiful this celestial body in our back yard really is.

We do take it for granted, don't we! I suppose the same can be said for the sun. But when poeple see the moon through a binoculars or telescope for the first time, their awe is renewed...well mostly 🙂

But I guess its popularity just never reached the frenzy of 1969.
