We may have some patches of clear sky later this evening, so, if you're heading out later, you may be able to see a decent pass of the International Space Station and the ATV-5 cargo ship.

Space Station and ATV-5 flyover: Time: Mon Aug 11 9:32 PM, Visible: 6 min, Max Height: 86 degrees, Appears: W, Disappears: E

Last night the ATV was in front of the ISS and tonight it will appear behind the it as it lines up for docking tomorrow.

ISS magnitude is estimated at -3.3 whereas ATV-5 is estimated as +0.8.

Definitely worth looking out for.

I had a look at the ISS and ATV-5 and as always a nice site to see, but I was a bit silly to think I would be able to see two objects with the naked eye.

ATV-5 was a minute or two behind the ISS... so you would have been able to spot it on the same "flight path" as the ISS.

I managed to take a quick image of the ISS... not terribly pleased with it, as it's a 60 second exposure and there was a fair amount of wind, so it's a but "soft". However, here it is:

I thought it was going to be much closer and we would see two satellites travelling in unison. I did see another satellite on the same sort of path but I thought it was something different but the ISS had long passed.

I see what you mean with the picture looking soft, but still a nice picture.
