Had a lot of work to do today, but the Sun started shining so I thought b******s to it and took some pictures. Eventually got this when the cloud got a bit more open and went on to take another 50 odd frames for a mosaic. Might be a while on that one.

I did set up a Cak image, got it all dialled in then it went dark. I came up for air from under my coat draped over the laptop to discover a thick blanket of cloud overhead. Oh well.......

Great image, Rupert.

It looks like the sunspot is starting to rotate out of view now.

Should make for some interesting prominence images!

Thanks

I took a CaK images yesterday with it nearly on the limb. Try as I might I could see no proms!

Given the weather I think the opportunity is now gone.
