Thank you Mike and Sumitra for a very informative talk on the subject, I learned alot.

For now I think I will stick to using my phone camera with the telescope,  I took this holding my old samsung galaxy note 4 up to my skyquest xt8i, it took a while to get it aligned and probably needs some post processing.  I am looking for a decent mount for it (samsung galaxy s7). Any advice or recommendations appreciated.

Hello David,

What a nice photo, lots of details on those craters!
Really pleased you enjoyed the talk, it was a pleasure putting it all together! 🙂

I can't help you with the mount suggestion, but I'm sure someone else might be able to!
See you soon!
Sumitra

Very pleased that you found the session useful, David.

I've not used a Samsung mount previously, as I have an iPhone... but a quick Google search has turned up this:

http://www.tringastro.co.uk/bresser-universal-smart-phone-adapter-12072-p.asp?gclid=CO36_ZXXltICFUUq0wodPFIGiA

which may fit the bill.

There is another type of mount on Amazon, here:

which is cheaper, but looks like it will do the job.

Hope this helps.

Mike.
